Every year, over 1 million newborns suffer from preventable hypothermia simply because they were born without access to electricity or medical equipment.
Balu was born in 2025 from a simple realization: the technology to prevent hypothermia already exists, but it’s not designed for those who need it most. While helping with midwives in rural Nepal, we saw how single-use warmers and expensive incubators failed the very communities facing the highest risks.
